You can delete your WhatFlare data at any time, for any reason, without contacting us first. This page explains exactly how, what gets removed, and how long it takes.
1.Which route applies to you
| You are… | What to do |
|---|---|
| A WhatFlare customer You have an account and send messages through the platform |
Delete it yourself — see section 2 — or email us (section 3) |
| Someone who received a WhatsApp message A business contacted you using WhatFlare |
See section 8. The business holds your data, not us |
2.Delete your data from your account
This is the fastest route and needs no approval from us:
- Sign in at app.whatflare.com.
- Open Settings from the account menu.
- Go to the Account or Privacy section.
- Select Delete account and data.
- Confirm when prompted. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
Deletion is irreversible. Before you confirm, use the export option in Settings to download your contacts, conversations and invoices. Once deletion runs, we cannot restore them — not even from backups.
You can also delete individual items without closing your account: remove specific contacts, clear a conversation, or delete an uploaded contact list from the relevant screen.
3.Request deletion by email
If you cannot sign in, or prefer we handle it, email us and we will do it for you.
Send to: [email protected]
Subject: Data deletion request
Include:
- The email address on your WhatFlare account
- Your workspace or business name
- Whether you want everything deleted, or only specific data
Send it from the email address registered on the account where possible — that is the quickest way for us to verify the request. If you cannot, we will ask you a few questions to confirm your identity before deleting anything. We do this to protect you: without verification, anyone could delete your business data.
4.What gets deleted
A full account deletion permanently removes:
- Your account profile, login credentials and team member accounts
- All contacts and contact lists you uploaded or synced
- All WhatsApp conversations, message content and media
- Message templates, chatbot flows and AI agent configurations
- Campaign, broadcast and scheduled-message records
- Connected integration credentials and access tokens
- Your WhatsApp Business Account connection to our platform
- Uploaded files, media and knowledge-base documents
5.What we must keep, and why
A small amount of data survives deletion because the law requires it. We keep the minimum necessary and nothing more:
| Retained | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Invoices and payment records | Indian tax and accounting law | 8 years |
| Records of the deletion request itself | To evidence we honoured your request | 3 years |
| Data under legal hold | An active dispute or lawful order | Until resolved |
None of this retained data is used for any purpose other than the one stated. It is not used for marketing, analytics or AI training.
6.How long it takes
- Self-serve deletion — removed from live systems immediately.
- Email request — acknowledged within 2 business days, completed within 30 days, usually much sooner.
- Backups — encrypted backups rotate on a 35-day cycle. Deleted data disappears from backups as they are overwritten, and is never restored to live systems in the meantime.
We confirm by email once deletion is complete.
7.Revoking WhatFlare's access at Meta
If you connected a WhatsApp Business Account to WhatFlare, you can also revoke our access directly from Meta — independently of anything you do on our side:
- Go to business.facebook.com.
- Open Business settings → Business assets or Apps.
- Find WhatFlare in the list of connected apps or partners.
- Select Remove to revoke access.
To review app permissions on your personal Facebook account, visit Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites, select WhatFlare, and choose Remove.
Revoking access at Meta stops WhatFlare from reaching your WhatsApp account, but it does not by itself delete data already stored with us. To remove that too, follow section 2 or section 3.
8.If a business messaged you through WhatFlare
If you received a WhatsApp message from a business that uses WhatFlare, that business — not WhatFlare — decides what data it holds about you and why. In data-protection terms they are the controller and we are only their processor, so we are not permitted to delete their records on our own initiative.
- Contact the business directly and ask them to delete your data. They can do it from their WhatFlare account in seconds.
- To stop messages, reply STOP to the conversation, or block and report the sender in WhatsApp.
- If you cannot identify or reach the business, email [email protected] with the sender's phone number and a screenshot. We will identify the customer and route your request to them, and follow up if they do not act.
